Students have the right to apply for recognition of prior learning. The recognition is based on the skills of the student regardless of the ways the fore mentioned expertise has been acquired. The student has the responsibility to demonstrate the skills required in the study objectives and to provide the required information and documentation based on which the decision for approval will be made.

Profile of the programme
Bachelor of Engineering Degree is a four-year first-cycle polytechnic degree in the field of technology and transport which provides skills and knowledge for graduates to work in specialist tasks in technology industry, in service sector and in public sector.
Key learning outcomes
Basic knowledge and skills in the various elements of profitable and effiecient business processes. Learning skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, international and intercultural competence, project management skills, working-life skills and innovation skills.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
A graduate in Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Management works in specialist tasks in private sector companies, in public sector and in project management in Finland and abroad. An engineer works for example in production, in development of business processes or in marketing, selling, customer service and business-to-business services.
Access to further studies
A graduate is eligible to apply for Master's Degree studies in a university after completing the first-cycle polytechnic degree. Special arrangements apply to application for Master-level studies in university of applied sciences as there is a requirement of three years of work experience after completion of a bachelor-level degree.

Graduation requirements
A student is eligible to graduate when he/she has completed all the required courses set for the degree as a present student (extent 240 ECTS credits).
Mode of study
Studies are implemented as courses and projects. Studies include contact teaching and self-study.

Workplacement(s) and Work-based Learning
The work placements are mainly done during summer, but a placement abroad is possible also during the spring of the second year. Double degree students do their placement after the studies abroad preferably in the destination country. Students do their first working life project already during their first year, and the projects have an essential role also during the professional and advanced studies. All thesis projects are based on company or public sector initiatives.
Obligatory or Optional Mobility
Internship is typically done during the third year of the studies, and double degree students study the whole third year abroad.
