Descriptions

The Multiform studies in Industrial Management is intended for persons who work at the same time as having the opportunity to take part in the studies included in the four-year engineering degree (240 cr). Credits can be also obtained from previous studies suitable for the degree and work experience in the field.

At the beginning of the studies, a personal study plan (HOPS) is prepared for the student, which takes into account the previous studies to be accepted, the work experience to be accepted, the student's interests and working life needs, and the studies offered. The studies offered aim to enable the student to supplement a previous degree or an engineering degree with a degree in Industrial Management. Part of the teaching is in English.

The total scope of the Bachelor of Engineering degree is 240 credits.

• Innovation studies cr
• Elective and elective studies 25 cr
• Work Based Learning 30 cr
• Thesis 15 cr

In projects related to professional studies, competences can be developed around current phenomena.

Graduates in Industrial Management often work as developers of industrial operations and service processes in changing global networks. The graduates are capable of technical-economic thinking utilizing modern procedures and principles of sustainable development.

Development

The advisory board for Industrial Management reviewed changes to the curriculum in the meeting in November 2024.

This curriculum is almost the same with the earlier one from 2024. Some courses have been somewhat updated concerning the contents.

The sections dealing with artificial intelligence and information security have been integrated into the Orientation to Studies and Study Planning course.

Objective

Graduates from industrial management know the possibilities to develop businesses by applying different technical solutions and can assess the options from the business perspective. He/she can work both independently and in a team and solve business problems of technical/economic nature. He/she is can apply sustainability principles together with other professionals and companies. Engineers from industrial management care also able to gain and implement new knowledge in their field.
