The student
• is familiar with the concepts and basics of service design
• knows the essential tools and techniques of service design
• recognises the importance of research in service design
• can produce service design documentation and outline the service design process
• knows how to use prototypes as a design tool.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• demonstrates good knowledge of the concepts and basics of service design
• is able to apply service design tools and techniques
• can evaluate the importance of research to the quality of design work
• understands the importance of and is able to produce service design documentation
• masters the service design process
• masters the use of prototypes as part of their design work.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• has full command of the concepts and premises of service design
• can apply the tools and techniques of service design creatively and intelligently
• understands and is able to versatilely evaluate the importance of research in service design to the quality of design work
• can apply the methods of service design documentation and understands its significance for design
• understands the service design process and is able to modify it creatively and appropriately
• can examine the use of prototypes as a part of the design work.
