Descriptions

The curriculum in Osteopathy programme consists of 5 modules, each with a specific theme: Human Structure and Function, Osteopathic examination and treatment, Osteopahic clinical practice, Development and management skills in osteopathy, and Elective study module of 15 ECTS, that the student can compile from the multidisciplinary selection of Metropolia. The studies also include a 10 ECTS innovation project, which carried out in multidisciplinary teams.

The competence-based curriculum with competence objectives describes what kind of competence the student is required to acquire. Goals help the student to evaluate their own skills and future learning. The student’s own choices, recognition of prior learning (RPL) and flexible individual implementations enable a personal study path that described in a personal study plan (HOPS). Tutor, study counsellor, other teachers and staff support the progress of the student’s studies.

During the training, it is possible for a student to apply for student exchanges of different lengths. It is also possible to participate in international activities, e.g. the International Week, in connection with studies and in joint activities with foreign exchange students. Parts of the teaching can be implemented completely in English.

Development

Suunnittelussa on huomioitu tutkinto-ohjelman neuvottelukunnalta 2020 saatu palaute. Osteopatian tutkinto-ohjelman opetussuunnitelma pohjautuu vahvasti kansainväliseen malliin, ja suurin osa kirjallisuudesta on englanninkielistä.

Osteopatian opetussuunnitelma on kehitetty yleiseurooppalaisen toimenkuvan mukaiseksi, noudattaa osteopatiapalvelujen CEN standardia ja auditoitu Austrian Standards Instituten toimesta 2022. Uusi opetussuunnitelma on käsitelty ja hyväksytty Osteopatian tutkinnon neuvottelukunnassa 24.1.2023.

Osaamisperustaisen opetussuunnitelman suunnittelussa on huomioitu seuraavat dokumentit:
- European Standard Osteopathic healthcare provision. CEN FprEN 16686:2015
- OsEAN Standard for the Management of Osteopathic Educational Providers

Further information

Kopioitu opetussuunnitelmasta SXF22S1 seuraavin muutoksin:
