Objective

The student can describe the physical load factors of care and therapy work. Students can identify the importance of ergonomic principles in the prevention of musculoskeletal problems, and they are able to demonstrate their competence in using them in their own operations. Students are capable of planning and instructing clients’ safe assistance and transfer that supports the clients’ functional ability. The student can describe the basics of physical activity guidance and is able to implement individual and objective physical activity guidance for different-aged people, which supports the client’s functional ability and health as well as the client’s physical activity behaviour. The purpose of the work placement is to develop students’ professional competence to operate in dialogue in interaction with their work community and clients. Students know how to implement basic physiotherapy methods in a client-oriented manner. Students will identify and recognise the aspects of sustainable development in and affecting the work of physiotherapists. Students’ key professional competence and expertise deepen systematically as the studies progress. International collaboration in physiotherapy in the spring semester.
