Objective

Student
- knows the guidelines and legislation related to drug therapy and their significance
- can plan, implement and evaluate safe drug therapy using different routes of administration
- has a basic knowledge of pharmacology
- can guide the client/patient in drug therapy and medication adherence.

Content

Role, tasks and responsibilities of a nurse in drug therapy
Organisation, management and supervision of pharmaceutical services, medicine and medication safety
Safe drug therapy process and medication plan
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics and toxicology
Use of pharmaceutical databases
Different pharmaceutical forms and routes of administration
Medication guidance, adherence and self-medication
Medication-related adverse events and related reporting procedure
