Objective

Students know the most common causes, symptoms and psychological consequences of structural brain damage and brain dysfunction. They understand the prerequisites and limits of rehabilitation of the brain and brain-related problems. Students are able to assess the adequacy of their own competence in treating clients and refer clients for neuropsychological services as required. They are able to apply neuropsychological knowledge in occupational therapy.

Content

Localisation of brain functions and disturbance of functional systems, the most common damage and disorder mechanisms underlying brain-related problems, brain-related problems, such as developmental abnormalities, brain damage, neuropsychological symptom patterns caused by progressive brain diseases and associated psychological symptoms, brain plasticity and foundations of rehabilitation of brain-related problems, Multidisciplinary work: referral for neuropsychological examination and treatment, applying neuropsychological knowledge
