Learning outcomes
Students familiarise themselves with patient’s interview, examination and differential diagnosis of patient cases. They also acquaint themselves with various osteopathic manual treatment therapies and demonstrate competence in safe and effective osteopathic treatment. Students know how to use osteopathic principles in their work. They are able to prioritise diverse treatment techniques and consider time limitations. Students observe peer students’ work with patients in small groups and appreciate sharing knowledge. They are capable of taking responsibility for learning of their group and sharing the acquired knowledge. Students participate in patient’s osteopathic diagnostics together with their supervising teacher and peer students. They know how to assess and develop their competence and learning methods. Students know how to communicate and interact in the work environment. They demonstrate improved integration of knowledge and skill in their work. Students are able to make a written referral for patient’s further treatment.
Content
Interview, observation and examination routines. Tests for differential diagnosis. Osteopathic diagnosis and treatment. Written referral for further treatment. Education on therapeutic exercises.
