Objective

The students are familiar with both the content and production related characteristics of continuous fictive and non-fictive multi-episode series. The students apply their storytelling skills in development of a series concept. The students know the guidelines of cooperation between commissioner, producer, script writer and director in a professional series productions. The students apply their fiction production knowledge in the series concept planning. They understand the significance of teamwork and can work as a member of a team. The students know how to develop, modify and pitch a series concept. They understand the significance of the target group and deepen their understanding of the distribution platforms of programs. The students can break down the script of a continuous multi-episode series from both artistic and production related point of view. The students are familiar with key characteristics of both domestic and international co-productions. They know the budgeting, financing and key contracts of series productions in both domestic and international contexts.

- The characteristics of continuous multi-episode series (both fictive and non-fictive).
- Planning and scheduling of developmen process.
- Phases of idea production and scriptwriting.
- Teamwork skills, giving and receiving of feedback.
- Production models and project management.
- Distribution platforms and target groups of a series.
- Models and key contracts in international co-productions.
- Professional presentation package of a series concept.
- Pitching.
- Developing and deepening of personal professional orientation.
- The emphasis of the course varies from year to year (concept of a fictional or reality series).
