Assessment criteria
Pass The student has acquired basic knowledge of the key critical concepts, debates, and questions of practice in disability in society and disability services. Fail The student has not acquired basic knowledge of the key critical concepts, debates, and questions of practice in disability in society and disability services.
Location and time
Online course in English. 5 credits. Students can complete the course at their own pace. The online course is open during the spring semester 8.1.-03.05.2024.

Teaching methods
Content: This course will introduce students to the key critical concepts, debates, and questions of practice in disability in society and disability services.The lectures and tasks are scheduled in the Moodle learning environment in the order they are supposed to be completed. Introduction • Video lecture, content of the course, how to proceed • Pre assignment: how people with disabilities are perceived in your country Defining disability – medical and social model • Compare the content of the video lecture to your pre assignment • Themes of equality and equity International and national legislation • UNCRPD convention, content, signing and ratification process • Legislation
