Teaching methods
Attending clinical practice orientation session is mandatory. Date of orientations sessions will be announced later.
Supervision of workplace training, individual tutorials.

Exam schedules
If the clinical practice is failed, student should complete that clinical practice prior to continuing to a clinical practice with different substance. If a clinical practice is failed, it cannot be recognized by prior learning.

Clinical practice can be done as an international student exchange. Contact the international coordinator in advance.
Completion alternatives
A student can have this clinical practice recognized by prior learning. In a case of RPL, a student will follow Metropolia RPL instructions and discuss with their tutor about the process. The clinical practice can be recognized only by a work experience as a substitute nurse in a suitable clinical environment. The work experience must be acquired in one continues period of at least 270 hours. The student must present a written self assessment, a written proof of the employment and completed hours. The RPL application must be done before commencement of the clinical practice. If a clinical practice is failed, it cannot be recognized by prior learning.

Previous studies:
- two clinical practices must be completed as required by the curriculum
- grades for previous courses must be registered
- the student must make sure that all the prerequisite courses have been completed successfully before the beginning of the clinical practice
- if the student has not completed all the prerequisite courses, the clinical practice is postponed to a later time (and the student is referred to his/her tutor to update the individual study plan).
- to be able to start the clinical practice, the student must have completed the theoretical course Nursing of Clients with Mental Health or Substance Abuse Problems as well as the medical calculations, or, alternatively, the student must have attended the theoretical studies without yet completing the exam.
- all absences must be compensated
- student must follow the organization instructions regarding vaccinations and statement of infectious diseases
- if the clinical practice includes working with minors, a student must present a criminal records extract prior the clinical practice.
