Orientation to the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Applied Gerontology (3ECTS)

Learning outcomes

The student will be able to
- identify the job opportunities for a Bachelor of Social Services and Health Care
- describe the skills of a Bachelor of Social Services and Health Care
- explain the concept of multidisciplinary studies in the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Applied Gerontology
- plan their own study path and identify the factors influencing its design
- identify the most common software and systems needed for learning
- comprehend the study environment and the services, guidelines, rules and study practices related to studies at Metropolia UAS
• after completing the Basic Information Security course, to handle information appropriately, identify the most common security threats and be prepared to meet the demands of working life in terms of information security skills
• after completing the basic AI course, understand the principles of large language models, understanding their advantages and disadvantages. Students will be able to use AI in a responsible and ethical way in learning, taking responsibility for the content of their own work and following good scientific practice.

Mikäli opiskelijalla on yksilöllisten opetusjärjestelyjen päätös, joka vaikuttaa opintojakson suorittamiseen, tulee opiskelijan olla opintojakson vastuuopettajaan yhteydessä heti opintojakson ilmoittautumisajan päätyttyä.


Tekoälyn käyttö opintojaksolla:

Huomioithan, että oppimistehtävissä tulee hyödyntää opintojakson tavoitteisiin soveltuvia ja/tai määriteltyjä lähteitä ja tekoäly voi toimia tukena omalle ajattelulle. Oppimistehtävien tekstiä ei siis voi muodostaa tekoälyllä. Mikäli hyödynnät tekoälyä oppimistehtävissä, tulee se kirjata selkeästi esille.

AHOT:
Hakemukset osoitetaan opintojakson vastuuopettajalle, joka tunnistaa osaamisen (käsittelee hakemuksen). Aiemmin hankitun osaamisen tunnistaminen toteutuu Metropolian ohjeiden, tutkintosäännön ja opiskeluohjeiden, mukaisesti kaksivaiheisesti. Käsiteltyään hakemuksen opintojakson vastuuopettaja siirtää opiskelijan hakemuksen tutkintovastaavalle osaamisen tunnustamiseksi (tekee päätöksen).

Opiskelija vahvistaa paikkansa opintojaksototeutuksella olemalla läsnä opetuksen alkaessa. Jos opiskelija ei sairauden vuoksi pysty osallistumaan opetuksen alkuun, hän voi myös vahvistaa opiskelupaikkansa ilmoittamalla siitä opettajalle etukäteen. Mikäli ilmoittautunut opiskelija ei osallistu toteutukselle, opintojaksosta vastaava opettaja poistaa opiskelijan toteutukselta kahden viikon sisällä opinnon alkamisesta.
