Objective
The student
• knows the concept and principles of client and patient orientation
• knows the legal and ethical basics related to the rights and responsibilities of clients and patients
• understands the importance of goal-orientation, dialogue and participation in client and patient relationships
• understands the concepts of interdisciplinarity and multi-agency collaboration and their significance in client and patient work

Students are divided in small groups for peer learning.

2ECTS is 54 hours of student work.
Further information
The student confirms his/her place in the course implementation by being present at the beginning of the teaching or otherwise in a separately agreed manner with the teacher, which can be, for example, the submission of the first learning assignment. If a student is unable to attend the start of teaching due to illness, they can also confirm their study place by notifying the teacher in advance.
The learning assignments must be returned by the deadline. The course will not be assessed if the assignments are returned after the deadline. In this case, the student must register for the implementation of the next semester.
The assignments and MATERIALS prepared by the teacher are works in accordance with the Copyright Act (404/61) for which the teacher has the copyright. Assignments AND MATERIALS may not be used other than in their own studies. Their public distribution is only allowed with the teacher's permission.
Possible internship in an innovation hub. Possible cooperation with working life. Students are not allowed to use AI in the creation of content for works without separate permission or approval. Read Metropolia's instructions for using artificial intelligence. Student must do the assignments by him/herself.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment passed/completed, failed. The assignments of the course are assessed with approval when they have been completed according to the assignment and to the extent required by them. The student is given the opportunity to correct the submitted assignment, i.e. they receive a request for supplementation of the rejected assignment.
