Objective
The student recognises basic principles of waste management and is able to do simple waste plans for municipal solid waste.

Location and time
- Lectures and exercises will be held according to the schedule.
- Lectures and exercises will be conducted in-person unless otherwise agreed.
- Laboratory exercises will be arranged separately in laboratory A135a.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Course:
The use of artificial intelligence is allowed, it can be used, it must be told.
Students can use AI in the creation of their work, but they must clearly indicate its use. The use of AI tools can be mentioned in the methods or similar sections. The failure to disclose the use of AI, will be considered as cheating.
- Using AI to refine the details of the implementation is recommended. For example, upload lecture material to the AI and ask it to explain and ask questions.
- AI can be used for brainstorming homework/report ideas, but it should not produce the entire report. Write the report yourself, upload it to the AI, and ask for correction suggestions.
- AI is not recommended for use in exams, as AI cannot solve exam tasks and produces incorrect answers for them. (tested)

Mid-exams, a total of 50 points
-2 mid-exams (1st exam 30 points and 2nd exam 20 points)
Assignments&laboratory reports, a total of 50 points

Qualifications
The student have the basic knowledge of quality- and environmental management systems. The student understands the basics of environmental chemistry of waste and soil. The student recognises selected environmental engineering processes and equipment as part of the process.
