Objective
The student can identify the details of the bones in the upper limbs and describe the structure and functioning of joints in the upper limbs. They can identify and name the muscles in the upper limbs and know how to describe the movements they generate in each joint. The student is able to describe the structure of the thorax, the joints of the ribs and the special characteristics of the different parts of the spine. The student is able to explain the location and basic functioning of the most important muscle groups in the torso and the neck area. The student can identify the core structures of the musculoskeletal system using palpation. The student can explain the composition and physiological importance of blood as well as the structure and core functions of the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system and the respiratory system. Content
- Structure and functioning of the upper limbs: bones, joints, muscles
- Structure of the thorax, functioning of the different parts of the spine
- Torso and neck muscles: deep muscles in the back and the back of the neck, neck muscles, abdominal muscles, pelvic floor muscles, respiratory muscles
- Palpation in the identification of structures
- Physiology: blood, blood circulation, lymphatic system, respiration
- Basics of exercise physiology
