Objective

On completion of the course, the student will:
- Know how companies use quantitative analysis and research in order to develop their operations.
- Be able to design and implement surveys, and analyze raw data
-Can assess the reliability and validity of the quantitative research
-Be proficient in using SPSS and Excel to analyze raw data and present them in an illustrative form
- Have an understanding how data analytics is used to solve business problems and in decision making.

Content

- Financial Mathematics in Excel
- Quantitative research process and implementation
- Questionnaire design and data collection
- Data Analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS and Excel
- Interpretation and statistical reasoning
- Statistical testing

Teaching methods

On completion of the course, the student will:
- Know how companies use quantitative analysis and research in order to develop their operations.
- Be able to design and implement surveys, and analyze raw data
-Can assess the reliability and validity of the quantitative research
-Be proficient in using SPSS and Excel to analyze raw data and present them in an illustrative form
- Have an understanding how data analytics is used to solve business problems and in decision making.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has achieved the course objectives fairly. The student will be able to identify, define and use the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student understands the criteria and principles of the expertise development.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has achieved the course objectives well, even though the knowledge and skills need improvement on some areas. The student is able to define the course concepts and models and are able to justify the analysis. The student is able to apply their knowledge in leisure, study and work situations. The student understands the importance of expertise in the field of business and is able to analyze his/her own expertise.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has achieved the objectives of the course with excellent marks. The student masters commendably the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student is able to make justified and fluent analysis and to present concrete development measures. The student is well prepared to apply their knowledge in leisure, study and work situations. The student is able to analyze the business sector expertise and the development of his/her own expertise.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below 50%- Fail

Grade 1: 50-59%
Grade 2: 60-69%
Grade 3: 70-79%
Grade 4: 80-89%
Grade 5: 90-100%

Final results: 50% from exam and 50% from assignment and quizze.
The student must obtain at least 50% in the exam in order to pass the course.
