Objective

Learning outcomes:
The students are able to justify the importance of occupational therapy in advancing health, well-being and participation. The students evaluate and develop their competence taking into account changes in the operating environment. The students examine the importance of their own personality, attitudes and values in the work of an occupational therapist. The students identify ethical issues related to the work of an occupational therapist. The students reflect on the implementation of the principles of equality and parity in the work of an occupational therapist. The students takes responsibility for their performance and they evaluate the effects of it. The students work with innovative and experimental approach and are flexible to change. The students plan career development in order to maintain and promote their competitiveness as employees and job applicants. The students create social relationships and networks to promote career development. The students market their competence and expertise using different forms of communication. The students assess external and internal straining factors (work stress) affecting their own well-being at work when working as occupational therapists.

Teaching methods

opintojakso jakautuu kahteen osaan, jotka on mahdollista opiskella yksilöllisesti erilaisia aikatauluja noudattaen.
osa1 yhteensä 2op:
Opiskelija valitsee omaa osaamistaan parhaiten kehittävät 2 osaa opintojaksosta: Tehoa työnhakuun ja urakehitykseen. Osat ovat: 1) Työnhaku ja urasuunnittelu 1 op, 2) Työlainsäädäntö, työsopimukset ja palkkaus 1 op , 3) Tulevaisuuden työelämätaidot 1 op, 4) Osaamisen kehittäminen ja itsensä johtaminen 1 op, 5) Työelämä 2030 1 op
näistä on tarjolla toteutus molemmille periodeille.

osa 2, yhteensä 3op:
oman Toimintaterapian osaamisen jäsentäminen ja siihen liittyvä oppimisen jakaminen pienryhmässä . Opiskelija voi valita läpi lukukauden aikataulutetuista vaihtoehdoista itselleen soveltuvimman pienryhmän. Pienryhmätapaamisessa myös opintopiiri, johon annetaan artikkeli joka pitää lukea ennen pienryhmään tuloa.

Opiskelija ilmoittautuu tälle "Toimintaterapeutin ammatti-identiteetin vahvistaminen"- toteutukselle ja saa tarkemmat ohjeet kokonaisuuteen opintojakson orientaatiossa.

Students:
- search for information from different sources and evaluate their reliability in an appropriate way,
- combine information from different sources into appropriate units as well as
- utilize and apply the knowledge base of the field.
- apply their competence in the professional situations,
- act in a client-oriented way,
- demonstrate the ability to solve professional tasks and problems as well as
- can justify their own points of view and their own action in a professional manner.
- function according to the ethical principles of the professional field and can justify their actions,
- act professionally in a work community and share their
competence,
- act in a responsible and goal-oriented way and take security aspects into account as well as
- develop themselves as professionals.

Students:
- apply professional concepts and knowledge base in a fluent and versatile manner,
- combine new learning contents as parts of wider phenomena in the field,
- evaluate the chooses sources and their usability as well as
- justify their choice on the basis of the prior knowledge.
- apply their expertise in professional situations in a responsible and independent manner
- act professionally in client processes,
- solve versatile professional tasks and problems as well as
- justify the expressed points of view, evaluate their actions and their consequences in a professional way.
- function according to the ethical principles of the professional field and can critically evaluate their actions
- can organize the activities of versatile groups and share their competence
- act in a responsible and goal- oriented way and take security aspects into account in all their actions
- develop themselves as professionals and recognize the development needs of the work community.

Students:
- apply professional terms and knowledge base in a professional and versatile manner,
- combine new learning contents as parts of wider phenomena in the field and create new perspectives as well as
- critically evaluate the sources of their choice and their usability.
- apply and communicate their expertise in multiprofessional situations in a holistic and responsible manner
- can make independent decisions and function professionally in the client processes,
- solve versatile professional tasks insightfully and creatively,
- justify their expressed points of view, evaluate their actions and their consequences in a professional way as well as
- act and make choices on the basis of previously acquired information
- act in accordance with the ethical principles of the professional field and can apply them in various situations
