Learning outcomes

At the end of this introductory course, students will be better informed about various productivity/quality management concepts. This may help them in increasing their productivity and quality of their work in various domains of life. At the end of this course, students will be able to
- Explain what is quality and productivity in the 2020s.
- Realise what it takes to build quality products and services.
- Control and tailor job designs in a way which promotes productivity and quality.
- Realise the importance of various modern technologies which are being used to improve productivity and quality.
- Define tools which can improve their productivity and quality e.g. accountability and auditing.
- Control material management by understanding various factors involved in Supply Chain.
- Appreciate the importance of human factor as organizational productivity/quality is improved.
- Realise the significance of continuous improvement and incorporate in their life.
- Learn about steps which facilitate better decision making.
- Gain insights from class discussion and lectures on how to maximise their productivity.

Content

This course provides an introductory coverage of Productivity and Quality Management in various industries. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of quality principles through the interpretation, understanding and use of real business examples. Areas covered include Quality and Continuous Improvement, Auditing, technologies which organizations use to improve their productivity/quality. The content will help you internalize key areas under quality/productivity and apply them in your life.
