Objective
The students can function in diverse learning environments and are able to describe key guidelines, rules, and study practices at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. The students can plan their own study paths and recognize factors which influence their planning. They understand the required work and study habits for the degree. The students begin to recognize their own strengths and areas for development while working towards collective, collaborative, and participatory goals. The students can use the most common programs and systems needed in their studies, as well as the key principles of data protection and data security. The students are aware of the competences and work life opportunities provided by the degree.
Content
Physical, social, and digital learning environments. Student and library services including basic information search and data protection/security skills, key digital tools and information systems used while studying in the degree programme. Principles and methods of learning (individually and collectively), as well as the necessary curriculum and planning skills. Tools including Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Personal Study Plan (PSP) and Personal Language Study Plan (Language PSP). Awareness of rules and regulations for studying at the University of Applied Sciences. Recognition of study related strengths, areas for development and the competences and work life possibilities gained while pursuing the degree.
