Objective

The student learns about the concepts, processes and methods of service design. The student will be familiar with the research approach to service design and typical service design process documentation.

The student is familiar with the concepts and basics of service design. The student knows the essential tools and techniques of service design. The student recognises the importance of research in service design. The student can produce service design documentation and outline the service design process. The student knows how to use prototypes as a design tool.

The student demonstrates good knowledge of the concepts and basics of service design. The student is able to apply service design tools and techniques. The student can evaluate the importance of research to the quality of design work. The student understands the importance of and is able to produce service design documentation. The student masters the service design process. The student masters the use of prototypes as part of their design work.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has full command of the concepts and premises of service design. The student can apply the tools and techniques of service design creatively and intelligently. The student understands and is able to versatilely evaluate the importance of research in service design to the quality of design work. The student can apply the methods of service design documentation and understands its significance for design. The student understands the service design process and is able to modify it creatively and appropriately. The student can examine the use of prototypes as a part of the design work.
