Objective

The student can describe and recognize the impact of music on the learning processes of different people. They can apply this knowledge when constructing group activities. They are also able to recognize special learning needs and search for suitable pedagogical approaches and methods. The student can develop methods of creativity, expression, improvisation and musical inventiveness in their pedagogical activities, and reflect on the acquired knowledge by connecting theory with practice. They can reflect on the challenges of the learners with special needs and the impacts of those challenges on the pedagogical approaches and music practices. The student is able to recognize different aspects related to group processes. They are able to reflect on the significance of creativity, expression and improvisation and how to facilitate these with different pedagogical approaches and theoretical knowledge. They can utilize an actively reflective approach to targeting their own learning and observing their own development.

Content

Creativity and the course of life, music learning and special needs, musical inventiveness and learner-oriented pedagogical practice, planning and implementing teaching situations, musicianship in music education, individual and group reflection.

Location and time

Opetus pääasiassa tiistaisin ja torstaisin klo 9-15 (18) välisinä aikoina. Tarkempi aikataulu vamukan lukujärjestys-lakanassa.
Osallistuminen opetukseen, työelämäprojekteihin ja tehtäviin kunkin opiskelijan opintopolkua täydentävällä tavalla. Sisältyvät projektit, kirjallisuus ja tehtävät sovitaan tammikuussa 2024.

The student can construct learned-centred music activities that enhance self-expression, improvisation, invention and the joy of learning. They recognize the possibilities of supporting diverse and creative agency. The student is able to recognize different approaches and pedagogical methods suitable to certain teaching situations. They can recognize the impact of the teacher’s pedagogical choices on learning in the group. They are able to reflect on their own learning and the teaching situations they have observed and experienced. The student can act as an active member of a group and is able to give constructive feedback in different stages of group work. The student also takes an active role in facing the challenges emerging in group processes. They can direct their own positioning in different working groups and recognize their progress in professional interaction and collaboration.

Prerequisites

The students is able to construct musical activities and reflect on learning in various stages of life. They can take into account the differences between individuals and the level of the support needed when constructing musical activities. They can identify the impact of a teacher’s pedagogical approach on group learning. They are able to reflect on their own learning and the teaching situations they have observed and experienced. The student can act as an active member of a group and is able to give constructive feedback in different stages of group work.
