Objective

Learning outcomes
As a student, you can identify the laboratory’s internal and external clients. You know the rights of the patient/client and are familiar with legislation governing the rights and privacy protection of patients. You are able to work in a client-centric way and recognise the importance of the client experience in developing laboratory services. You understand the significance of pre-analytical factors to the results of laboratory analyses and guide clients using an evidence-based approach. You are able to collect, handle, preserve and dispatch laboratory samples to a high quality standard and carry out patient examinations and sample tests performed in primary health care. You identify factors relating to patient safety and well-being in sampling and patient examinations and you work safely. You understand the importance of working aseptically and comply with aseptic guidelines. You incorporate ergonomic working methods in sampling into your personal professional skills. You know how to use the laboratory data system for submitting examination requests. You work in various working and learning environments and in multidisciplinary teams. You are proficient in the professional English-language vocabulary and concepts needed in sampling and guidance situations. You are able to use English in interactive and sampling situations.

Teaching methods

Teorialuennot pääsääntöisesti ZOOM yhteydellä. Pakollisia luentoja ei tallenneta. Ne luennot, jotka tallennetaan ovat luennon jälkeen kaksi viikkoa kuunneltavissa. Verkkoluennoilla tulee olla myös oma mikrofoni.

Yksilö/paritehtävät
Laboraatio-opetus; Laboraatiotunneille oma tietokone , tabletti tai puhelin mukaan.

Opettajan laatimat tehtävät ja materiaalit ovat Tekijänoikeuslain (404/61) mukaisia teoksia, joihin opettajalla on tekijänoikeus. Tehtäviä ja materiaaleja ei saa käyttää muuten kuin omissa opinnoissaan. Niiden julkinen levittäminen on sallittua vain opettajan luvalla. Videoituja luentoja ei saa levittää eteenpäin.

Muita uusintoja ei ole.Jos uusintaan ei osallistu, menettää uusintakerran. Jos tentistä ei pääse läpi annetuilla uusintakerroilla, tulee opintojaksolle osallistua kokonaisuudessaan uudelleen. Opintojakson arvosanan korotusta voi yrittää kerran, ensimmäisen uusintakerran yhteydessä.

Opintojaksolle ilmoittautuminen tulee tehdä ilmoittautumisaikana. Jälki-ilmoittautumisia ei huomioida. Opintojaksolle voi ilmoittautua päiväryhmän opiskelijat. Mikäli opiskelijalla on päätös yksilöllisisistä opetusjärjestelyistä/opetuksen erityisjärjestelyistä, hänen tulee ilmoittaa siitä ja tarpeestaan opintojakson vastuuopettajalle viimeistään opintojakson alussa.

Laboraatiot ovat pakollisia. Opiskelija valmistautuu laboraatio-opetukseen etukäteismateriaalien ja tehtävien avulla. Asianmukainen vaatetus laboraatioihin.Muutokset lukujärjestyksessä ovat mahdollisia.

Ilmoittautumisten hyväksymisen periaatteet
- ensin hyväksytään ne opiskelijat, jotka kuuluvat siihen ryhmään, jolle toteutus on suunnattu
- toiseksi hyväksytään nopeuttajat, mikäli opintojaksolla on paikkoja
- mahdolliset muut hyväksymismenettelytavat.

Tentit ja tehtävät tulee olla hyväksytysti suoritettu, jotta voi mennä Terveysalan laboratoriotyön harjoittelu 1:een.
Mikäli toteutuksella olevia tehtäviä/suorituksia ei ole tehty 2. uusintatenttipäivämäärään mennessä, toteutus arvioidaan hylätyksi ja opiskelijan on ilmoittauduttava uudelle toteutukselle.

Pääsääntöisesti puuttuva(t) laboraatio(t) korvataan seuraavan sovitun toteutuksen yhteydessä.

Jos opiskelijalla on osittainen AHOT, tulee päästös siitä toimittaa vastuuopettajalle kuukausi ennen opintojakson alkua.

"Palauttamalla verkkotentin tai verkkototeutuksen tehtävät opiskelija vakuuttaa osaamisen osoittamisensa perustuvan itsenäiseen tekemiseen ja eettiseen toimintaan. Vilppi voi johtaa jopa vuoden määräaikaiseen erottamiseen ammattikorkeakoulusta. Ammattikorkeakoululaki 932/2014, 38 §. Verkkototeutuksen itsenäisen osaamisen varmistamiseksi opettaja voi harkintansa mukaan edellyttää osaamisen osoittamista valvotuissa olosuhteissa tai suullisella tentillä."

In communication situations related to their professional field, the student trusts their communication skills enough to manage professional language use situations by asking questions to check any unclear points, and thanks to their own short speeches are able to understand the other speaker’s communication in order to act appropriately. The student expresses their thoughts in a simple way and for the most part coherently and reasonably understandably despite shortcomings in professional language and making grammatical errors that make it difficult for the message to get across. The student can produce simple texts of a specific format independently, and longer texts by means of language tools.

In communication situations related to their professional field, the student trusts their communication skills enough to manage language situations in the field as expected from a professional. The student exchanges ideas on an equal basis with an independent language user, and if necessary, takes the initiative to communicate in professional language use situations, taking into account to some extent the other participants’ language and cultural backgrounds and the circumstances. The student expresses themselves without delay, clearly and in detail, using professional vocabulary accurately. The student pronounces English clearly so that the overall message is conveyed, and produces texts for different purposes, without any of the occasional weak points in the language stopping the message from getting across.

In communication situations related to their professional field, the student trusts their communication skills to take part and take the initiative in language use situations in various communication situations in the field, following their conventions. The student exchanges ideas clearly and fluently on an equal basis with a skilful language user, and communicates, taking the initiative if necessary, also in demanding professional language use situations, taking into account the other participants’ language and cultural backgrounds. The student expresses themselves efficiently and precisely, using demanding professional vocabulary accurately. The student pronounces English clearly with natural stress and rhythm so that the overall message is emphasised, and produces clear, well-structured and compelling texts in various text types.

Vertaisarviointi

Opintojakson arvosanaa mahdollista korottaa toteutuksella mainittujen uusintatenttien yhteydessä.Korottaminen koskee koko opintojakson arvosanaa ja se voidaan toteuttaa vain kerran uusintatenttien antamissa puitteissa.
