Objective
The student will be familiar with the essential legislation governing the ownership, tenure and use of real estate, as well as the contents of the essential contracts and the rights and responsibilities of the parties.
The student will be able to apply the essential legislation governing the ownership, tenure and use of real estate. The student will be able to use various sources to acquire juridical information when necessary, and will be able to evaluate the terms of contract from the point of view of the legal entity he or she is representing.
Content
- Regulations governing the tenure and use of property (formation of real estate, zoning, building etc.)
- The responsibilities of the owner of real estate (e.g. preparedness for rescue, maintenance, waste management)
- Essential contracts governing the ownership, tenure and use of real estate:
The contents of the contract and the rights and responsibilities of the parties
Selling and renting real estate
Building contract
Subscriptions
Building maintenance contracts
Employment contract
- Special questions related to the use of real estate ( e.g. the owner’s liability for damage)
- The system of registration of real estate rights
