The extent of the ICT engineering education is 240 ECTS credits.
Structure of the degree (240 ECTS):
- Core Requirement Studies 55 ECTS
- Professional Studies 95 ECTS
- Work Based Projects 10 ECTS
- Elective Studies 35 ECTS
- Work Placement 30 ECTS
- Bachelor's Thesis 15 ECTS
At the beginning of the studies, an individual study plan (ISP) is planned for the student, that takes into account student's prior learning and work experience, student's interests and needs in working life, as well as the studies offered in multiform education. The yearly course offering includes studies that enable students to complete their previous degree or an incomplete degree into an ICT engineering degree. The content of the studies is based on the working life and partly phenomenon based learning. Some of the studies, if applicable, are connected to Metropolia's innovation hubs and projects there.

ARENEn suositus tutkintojen yhteisten kompetenssien soveltamisesta ammattikorkeakouluissa (2010), Valtioneuvoston asetus tutkintojen ja muiden osaamiskokonaisuuksien viitekehyksestä 120/2017, Valtioneuvoston tulevaisuusselonteot 1 & 2 (2017-2018) sekä Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriön tulevaisuuskatsaus 2018.
