Objective
The student:
- applies fundamental neuropsychological knowledge
- understands the conditions and limits of rehabilitation of the adult brain and brain-related problems
- outlines the role of the occupational therapist in the rehabilitation team
- can refer the client to neuropsychological and other multidisciplinary services as needed.
Content
Localisation of functions in the brain and cognitive functions
The most common mechanisms of damage and dysfunction underlying brain-based functional problems
Brain plasticity and the basis for rehabilitation of brain-related problems
Neuropsychological syndromes and associated psychological symptoms
Qualifications
Before taking this course, the student must have successfully completed the course Psychology.
