Objective

Students are able to:
Fit soft contact lenses for clients
Inform clients regarding care products and contact lens wear
Teach the client how to use contact lenses safely
Perform eye examinations and analyze cases in a versatile manner.

Content

Working in an optical practice and client service
Eye examinations and prescriptions for clients
Contact lens examinations and fitting contact lenses for clients
Customer-oriented communication in vision related matters
Record examination results appropriately
Different solutions for vision related problems

Qualifications

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a valid course of study in accordance with the curriculum in force, where the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge and skills in the following subjects: Refraction and prescription of spectacles, use of clinical examination techniques and fitting of contact lenses.

The prerequisites are fulfilled when the student has passed the following courses: Contact Lenses, Binocular Vision, Work Placement 1: Vision Correction and Client Service,  
Clinical Optometry, Investigative Techniques and Contact Lenses, Practicals
