Objective

The student
• can describe the neurology-based functional ability disorders related to everyday life and functional ability
• can describe the special features related to the growth and development of children and youth, as well as their effect on functional ability
• can plan physiotherapy and rehabilitation together with the client
• can critically assess the results of the chosen physiotherapy methods in the client’s physiotherapy
• can operate in collaboration based on multiprofessional expertise together with the client and working life operators.

• Psychomotor development and development theories
• Everyday life of children, their living environments and family-orientedness
• Assessing and strengthening functional ability of children in cooperation based on multiprofessional expertise
• The individual and age-based functional ability of children, typical development delays and functional ability disorders
• Motor learning of children
• Goal-oriented physiotherapy based on children’s needs
• Special characteristics of physiotherapy in pediatric neurology and children who require special support
