Objective
After completing the course, the student
- is able to create a collaborative culture of negotiation and successful teamwork
- is able use their problem-solving, collaboration, technical and communication skills in the
community development process and decision making
- is able to sustainably, ethically, responsibly and proactively develop innovative practical and
concrete solutions, approaches, products or services with multidisciplinary actors to meet the diverse future needs and current challenges of the metropolitan area, taking into account systemic issues
- can apply project and networking skills, as well as own creativity and competences, in regional, national or international development work
- can use their own skills in a multidisciplinary cooperation and working environment
- is able to report on the progress of the work to the working life/project partner
- can actively reflect on their own and team performance, and give and receive feedback.
Content
- Co-development and innovation, managing development processes and building a development
team
- Collaborative project and innovation work and its evaluation: ideation, future-oriented
conceptualisation and design, client or user understanding, contracts and intellectual property,
implementation, communication, disclosure, productisation, marketing and usability planning
- Multidisciplinary teamwork, stakeholder engagement and networking
- Innovation tools and methods
Qualifications
The student must understand the importance of the different stages of team formation and teamwork and be able to utilise them in building effective teamwork. They should recognise the systemic nature of sustainability challenges, work in a multidisciplinary team, and use a project plan to support the team's work.
Additionally, the student must master the application of the design process in solving challenges and driving innovation, as well as the use of foresight methods in future planning.
The student should also be able to actively engage in a multilingual, multidisciplinary, and
multicultural learning environment, using bilingual materials in tasks related to the course themes.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The course is completed satisfactorily when the student
- understands the basic principles of collaborative negotiation culture and teamwork, but application remains partial
- uses basic problem-solving, collaboration, technical and communication skills in a collaborative development process
- develops simple solutions that partially meet the needs of the metropolitan area, but remain
superficial in terms of sustainability and systemicity
- applies project and network collaboration in a limited manner, demonstrating a basic
understanding of the collaborative environment
- records the main points of their own and the team's activities, but analysis and utilisation of
feedback are minimal.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The course is completed successfully (good) when the student
- understands the significance of collaborative negotiation culture and successful teamwork and is able to apply them in practice at an adequate level
- effectively uses problem-solving, collaboration, technical, and communication skills in a
collaborative development process and decision-making
- develops practical solutions that consider sustainability and responsibility principles, but foresight and systemic thinking remain partly limited
- participates in project and network collaboration, using their creativity and expertise, but the
development activities remain partly limited
- reflects on team and personal performance at a basic level and gives and receives feedback
constructively.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The course is completed with excellence when the student
- demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the requirements of a collaborative negotiation culture and successful teamwork, and is able to apply them in complex situations
- uses their problem-solving, collaboration, technical, and communication skills with excellence in community development and decision-making
- develops innovative, sustainable, and ethical solutions that address the current and future needs of the metropolitan area, considering systemic thinking and foresight
- effectively applies project and networking skills in regional, national, or international development work, demonstrating creativity and depth of expertise
- reflects deeply on own and team performance, making suggestions for improvement and using feedback to improve performance.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The course is completed satisfactorily when the student

- uses basic problem-solving, collaboration, technical and communication skills in a collaborative development process
- develops simple solutions that partially meet the needs of the metropolitan area, but remain

The course is failed when the student
- does not understand the principles of collaborative negotiation culture or teamwork
- is unable to use their problem-solving, collaboration or communication skills in the development process
