Objective

The student can explain the principles and modes of heat transfer and apply them in heat transfer calculations of a plane, a pipe and a heat exchanger. They are able to design and balance HVAC networks and choose pumps an fans The student is able to dimension gravity ventilation in a residential building. They can explain how moisture transfers in structures and soil. The students recognize properties of building materials and factors related to corrosion. They can explain the principles of sound and apply them in noise calculations of HVAC systems.
