The student

• can animate a character with the help of rigging in accordance with the laws of animation.

• Introduction to one animation and rigging technique and application of that to a character of choice
• Design and animation of animated characters
• Rigging a character
• Characters in games and ads

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• can design and visualise a character that communicates the desired personality traits
• can build an animation rig for the character
• can animate a character using a rig according to the laws of animation.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• can design and visualise a high-quality character that communicates desired personality traits
• can build an animation rig for a character by applying what they have learned
• can animate a character using a rig, following the laws of animation and applying them to the animation storyline
• is able to produce high quality animation material.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• can design and visualise a high quality character that communicates desired personality traits
• is able to build an animation rig for a character by applying what they have learned and learning new things
• is able to animate a character using a rig, following the laws of animation and applying them to the animation sequence
• is able to produce high quality animation material.
