Objective

The students are familiar with the idea of person-in-environment, the stages of human development and behavior as multidimensional processes over the lifespan from early childhood to late adulthood. They are able to consider the individual as part of their environment and located in time. They understand how the micro world of personal experiences can be affected by the meso and macro worlds of social trends.

Content

Key perspectives on human development over the lifespan. A life course perspective of development and behavior, values, individual agency, and human connectedness from childhood to late adulthood. Interactions between the biological and psychological and the individual and community dimensions of the individual located in diverse cultural and physical environments and in time.
