- knows the processes of clinical laboratory work and masters pre-analytics in clinical laboratory work
- understands reference values and their significance
- understands quality assurance in clinical laboratory work
- knows the most common pathogens, normal flora and treatment-related infections in clinical microbiology
- is proficient in point-of-care analytics
- knows how to refer patients for laboratory tests
- is familiar with the basics of microbiological sampling
- knows how to take finger prick and venous blood samples.

Clinical laboratory work as part of the health service system
The role of laboratory tests in patient care
Guiding patients to laboratory tests in accordance with recommendations
Pre-analytical requirements for the most common laboratory tests
Areas of application, quality assurance and documentation in point-of-care analytics
Collection of common microbiological samples (fungal, bacterial and viral) e.g. from pharynx, urine and wound specimens
Finger prick and venous blood sampling
