Objective
The student is able to justify and plan their thesis in collaboration with a working life partner.
The student is able to apply researched and expert information as well as research and development methods in their field in a critical and productive manner in order to address development needs and solve challenges faced by businesses and organisations.
The student is able to make justified choices.
Content
- Selection of the subject of the thesis, ideation and planning
- Systematic literature searches and acquisition of information
- Preparation of the research plan: research and development methods suited to their purpose, theoretical background/framework, data, data collection and data management, data analysis methods, research ethics, data protection and sound scientific practices, reliability
- Permits and consents
Workshops, seminars, individual tutorials and small group tutorials in accordance with the degree programme’s instructions.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Pass/Fail: Passing the course requires that the thesis plan is approved by the thesis supervisor or the working life partner.

Objective
Opiskelija osaa perustella ja suunnitella opinnäytetyönsä yhteistyössä työelämän kanssa.
Opiskelija osaa soveltaa kriittisesti ja tuloksellisesti oman alansa tutkimus- ja asiantuntijatietoa sekä tutkimus- ja kehittämistoiminnan menetelmiä työelämän kehittämistarpeisiin vastaamiseksi ja ongelmien ratkaisemiseksi.
Opiskelija kykenee tekemään perusteltuja valintoja.

- Opinnäytetyön aiheen valinta, ideointi- ja suunnittelu
- Systemaattinen tiedonhankinta
- Tutkimussuunnitelman laatiminen: tarkoitukseen soveltuvat tutkimus- ja kehittämismenetelmät, teoriatausta/ teoreettinen viitekehys, aineistot, aineistonkeruu ja aineistonhallinta, aineiston analyysimenetelmät, tutkimusetiikka, tietosuoja ja hyvä tieteellinen käytäntö, luotettavuus
- Luvat ja suostumukset
Tutkinto-ohjelman ohjeistuksen mukaan, esim. työpajat, seminaarit, yksilöohjaus, ryhmäohjaus.
