Descriptions
The degree offers professionals in the live performance industry the opportunity to develop and strengthen their expertise in management, supervision and development in the field of live performance engineering. After completing the degree the students is able to take on challenging technological-artistic work. During the studies the student will develop their lifelong learning and self-management skills and their ability to manage and lead development and reform.
The expertise provided by the Master's degree studies emphasises the development of professional skills together with professionals in the field. The degree programme emphasises the live performance professional's ability to manage production processes and development projects focusing on the future in a technological-artistic framework. The theory and lectures provided by industry professionals support the development of the student's professional skills. Changes in working life are taken into consideration by connecting programme content to the student's workplace and the research-based development work required in them.
Studies are carried out as flexible blended teaching that recognises the prior learning of the student. Blended teaching consist of contact and online teaching and various development assignment carried out in working life. After completion of the degree programme, the student will be awarded the degree Master of Culture and Arts (UAS).
Development
Esitys- ja teatteritekniikan tutkinto-ohjelman opintojen suunnittelussa ja toteutuksessa tehdään laaja-alaista ja monipuolista yhteistyötä työelämän kanssa. Opetussuunnitelman laatimisessa on hyödynnetty vuonna 2017 alan työnantajille tehtyä kyselyä nykyisistä ja tulevaisuuden osaamistarpeista sekä StageRight-hankkeessa 2019 toteutettua koulutustarvekyselyä (http://urn.fi/URN:ISBN:978-952-328-185-1), StageRight- ja SafeOnStage-hankkeissa kerättyä aineistoa, Tapahtumateollisuuden toimialaraporttia (2020) sekä lähivuosina valmistuneita opinnäytetöitä (mm. Janatuinen 2021, Pietilä 2018).
Opetussuunnitelman kehittämiseen ovat osallistuneet tutkinto-ohjelman vakituinen opetushenkilöstö, työelämän asiantuntijaopettajia sekä työelämän edustajia neuvottelukunnasta. Esitys- ja teatteritekniikan tutkinto-ohjelman neuvottelukunta on osallistunut opetussuunnitelman kehittämiseen ja käsitellyt opetussuunnitelman kokouksessa 11.1.2022. Neuvottelukunnassa on edustus alan merkittäviltä työnantajilta: Akukon Oy, Audico Oy, Bright Finland Oy, Capital AV, Helsingin Kaupunginteatteri, Helsingin Tapahtumasäätiö, Kansallisgalleria, Suomen Kansallisooppera ja -baletti ja SunEffects Oy.

• Kolmen opintojakson nimeä on muokattu ja siksi näistä on tehty uudet opintojaksot: Esitysteknisen asiantuntijuuden kehittäminen, Teknis-taiteellisen työyhteisön johtaminen ja Organisaation osaamisen kehittäminen

The student is able to construct their expertise and understands its importance in the framework of live performance engineering. In addition to developing critical thinking, the student is able to advance collaborative learning and utilise networks in the development of their expertise. The student is able to analyse and assess information about the future developments of the field of live performance engineering in relation to their own expertise. The student is able to develop their self-management skills and their personal well-being at work.
The student will learn to identify various production processes and develop collaboration between different sectors of live performance engineering productions. The student will promote ethical working practices in their operating environment. The student is able to take into account project-specific workplace safety and sustainable development issues. The student is able to develop well-being in a work community and can manage diversity. The student recognises and acknowledges diversity in a workplace and applies principles of equality in their work.
The student has in-depth understanding of the operating environments of the live performance sector. The student is able to apply theory in positions of responsibility and develops technological-artistic operating environments. The student can acquire, analyse, apply and produce information, and has in-depth understanding of the significance and effect of management styles in their work. The student is able to analyse the development of their own work and operating environment from an international perspective.
