Descriptions

Bachelors of Social Services (UAS) and Bachelors of Elderly Care (UAS) may be admitted to the Master’s degree programme in social services. The studies consist of 90 ECTS and it is possible to complete them alongside work. The studies deepening professional competence consist of 55 ECTS, the final thesis is a Master's thesis of 30 ECTS and elective studies are 5 ECTS in scope. The courses in research- based development can be attended as progress is made with the Master’s thesis, supporting the completion of the thesis. The studies include consulting regarding the student's professional growth throughout the studies. The aim is to support meeting the student's own learning goals, taking the generic skills into account.
Contact teaching takes place mainly during three semesters (the fourth semester consists of the needed guidance for completing the Master’s thesis). The total duration of the studies is 2 years. The studies are constructed in a way that the students are able to complete the degree in three semesters that is in 1,5 years if they wish to do so.

Development

Opetussuunnitelman uudistamisen yhteydessä 2020 sen perustaksi
toteutettiin mm. kysely, johon vastasivat työelämän edustajat,
valmistuneet ja nykyiset opiskelijat sekä alan opettajat ja tutkimus- ja
kehittämistoiminnan yhteystyötahot. Opetussuunnitelmaa
kehitetään jatkuvasti yhteistyössä Metropolian sosiaalialan koulutuksen
neuvottelukunnan ja opettajatiimin kanssa.

Hakukelpoisia tutkintoja ovat sosionomi (AMK) ja geronomi (AMK) tutkinnot.

Opetussuunnitelman
Tavoitteet ja sisällöt vastaavat kansallisessa (NQF) ja
eurooppalaisessa (EQF) ylempien korkeakoulututkintojen viitekehyksissä
määriteltyä tasoa 7. Opetussuunnitelma on laadittu osaamisperustaiseksi
Metropolian ammattikorkeakoulun hallituksen linjausten mukaisesti.

Opetussuunnitelma on kopioitu sellaisenaan S0923S6-opetussuunnitelmasta. Ainoana muutoksena, että 30op opintojaksolla Opinnäytetyö XX00FB87 on korvattu 3 aiemmin erillistä opinnäytetyöhön liittyvää opintojaksoa.

Liitteeksi lisätty yhteisten johtamisen opintojen arviointikriteerit, vaikka yhteiset johtamisen opinnot eivät ole vielä tällä OPSilla, vaan tulevat vasta 2025 OPSille.
