Objective

The student
• is able to create a consistent framework/knowledge base for health care safety and quality making use of both national and international guidelines and scientific sources in a critical and analytical manner
• is able to innovatively use the concepts of the area of expertise to solve demanding problems in the field of health care safety and quality where new knowledge and competence is created
• can apply and combine information from different fields, to develop innovative insights or solutions into health care safety and quality both at national and international levels
• is able to communicate about health care safety and quality convincingly both orally and in writing to audiences within the field and outside of it.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to gather, process, produce and evaluate information about health care safety and quality, to use concepts of the area of expertise systematically, to solve problems in the field of health care safety and quality based on research and guidelines on the field, to recognise and analyse foci of health care quality and safety at the local level and to communicate about health care safety and quality clearly both orally and in writing.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to gather, process, produce and evaluate information about health care safety and quality through critical and extensive use of both national and international scientific sources;
to use concepts of the area of expertise correctly, to solve problems in the field of health care safety and quality based on up to date evidence, applying and combining information from different fields; to develop new viewpoints or solutions for health care safety and quality at national or international level and to communicate about health care safety and quality in a competent, clear and consistent manner both orally and in writing.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to create a consistent framework/knowledge base for health care safety and quality making use of both national and international guidelines and scientific sources in a critical and analytical manner, to innovatively use the concepts of the area of expertise to solve demanding problems in the field of health care safety and quality where new knowledge and competence is created, to apply and combine information from different fields, to develop innovative insights or solutions into health care safety and quality both at national and international levels and to convincingly communicate about health care safety and quality both orally and in writing to audiences within the field or outside of it.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student has completed basic requirements to pass the course and has made an attempt to apply and articulate concepts and information both verbally and in writing but has not made enough effort overall. The student has demonstrated little effort, interest and motivation for individual or team activities / assignments and the output is rather weak.
