Objective

After completion of this course the student knows how to take and treat samples for different analytical techniques. In addition, he is familiar with the most important concepts related to the quality assurance of analysis. He also knows the operation principles of the most important techniques for instrumental analysis, as well as the phenomena on which the techniques are based. The student is also able to decide which technique is suitable for the analysis of a certain kind of sample.

After completion of this course the student has analyzed samples using the most important analytical techniques closest to his own field of expertise.

Content

Sampling and sample treatment; quality assurance of analysis: calibration, validation; the most important techniques for instrumental analysis: spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy, electrochemical techniques
