Learning outcomes
- Opiskelija omaksuu konservointiin kuuluvan projektityyppisen työn luonteen ja periaatteet sekä projektityöhön sisältyvät vaatimukset koskien sopimuksia, aikatauluja, työn suunnittelua, projektinhallintaa, dokumentointia.
- Opiskelija saa valmiuksia työskennellä sekä projektin johdossa ja työntekijänä sekä ohjaajana erilaisissa alan koulutuksissa ja työpaikoilla.
- Opiskelija ymmärtää yhteistyötaitojen ja sidosryhmätoiminnan merkityksen, saa valmiuksia keskustella kulttuuriperinnön keskeisistä kysymyksistä alan ammattilaisten kanssa.
- Opiskelija saa valmiuksia ryhmätyöskentelyssä tapahtuvien ongelmatilanteiden kohtaamiseen.
- Opiskelija harjaantuu hankkimaan ja muokkaamaan tietoa eri lähteistä ja suhteuttamaan aiemman tiedon uuteen tietoon.

- Opiskelija osaa arvioida omaa osaamistaan ja antaa muille rakentavaa palautetta.
- Opiskelija pystyy toimimaan tarkoituksenmukaisesti ja taitavasti työelämän ja yritystoiminnan vaatimissa viestintä- ja vuorovaikutustilanteissa.

Content
- Työelämän kanssa yhteistyössä tehtävä projekti, joka voi koostua erilaisista konservaattorin ja museotyöntekijän tehtävistä museokentällä tai yksityisasiakkaiden kanssa esim. inventointi, kokoelman vauriokartoitus, olosuhdekartoitus, säilytyssuunnittelu, käytännön konservointityö (museot, seurakunnat, yhteisöt), jne.
- Projektitoiminnan perusteet; projektimainen työskentely ja tehtävien aikataulutus sekä resursointi
- Luovaan ongelmanratkaisuun rohkaiseminen
- Kirjallinen viestintä, suullinen ja sanaton viestintä

Prerequisites
Johdatus konservointiin 10 op, Konservoinnin dokumentointi ja inventointi 5 op / Integroitu englanti (3 op), Museologia I: Ilmasto ja sisätilojen ympäristöolosuhteet 10 op, Museologia II: Kokoelmanhallinta 10 op, Tekstiilimateriaalit, -tekniikat ja kuiduntunnistus 5 op, Orgaaniset ja epäorgaaniset materiaalit 10 op

Internship and working life connections
Working life collaboration takes place through visits and/or visiting lectures and professional discussions. Objects for the study modules will be acquired through museums, institutions and private clients.
The study module will be implemented in cooperation with a local museum.
Exam dates and retake possibilities
No exam, but the student should fulfill all the assignments given.
Student workload
The weekly working hours of a student is 1,5 cr which is equivalent to 40 hours of studies. 40 hours is formed from approx. 15 - 20 hours of contact studies with a lecturer. The remaining hours is spent by independent literature survey or practical work. 1 credit (cr) is equivalent to 27 hours (h).
Further information for students
During the study module the student should read up on the given literature together with practical work and give a PowerPoint presentation on a given subject.
Assessment methods and criteria
Learning assignment 70 %, continuous assessment 30 %.
Assessment is based on continuous assessment of a student, attendance, practical conservation work and its assessment. Each student is assessed from the starting point of her/his abilities, and how she/he will develop her/his abilities during the course.
At least 80 % presence required.

The student has a lot of absences from the teaching sessions. Activity during the teaching sessions and learning assignments is unsatisfactory. The student should improve her/his group working abilities.
The capacity to formulate relevant problems associated with the work is limited and therefore the problem solving and ability to apply theoretical studies to a practical work need to be improved.
The student does not work independently and there is a lot of need for teacher’s further guidance. The student has not given a requisite amount of attention for the subject and the result of the course is unbalanced. The student needs to improve her/his skills and knowledge in many areas.
The student will identify the elements of the process of communication and the partners of communication. She/he can make simple written messages and participate in interactive situations, but in spite of instruction the student has difficulties in data acquisition and their critical processing.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student has taken part to all of the teaching sessions and learning assignments and the activity for the course is good. The student acts flexibly as a group member.
The studies proceed coherently. The student is able to understand the basic motifs of the course and is able to apply theoretical studies to a practical work. The reasoning of the rehearsal works is competent and the student understands causes and consequences of one's choice.
The student works independently but there is still need for teacher’s further guidance. The student has given a requisite amount of attention for the subject and the result of the course is balanced. The student has achieved a good level at her/his skills and knowledge.
The student can evaluate his/her own communication skills and form communicative development goals. The student is goal-oriented in interactive situations and is familiar with the role of internal and external communication of the community. He/she listens, observes and interprets messages appropriately.
The student communicates as an expert in a structured, understandable and interesting way and targets messages to the recipient according to the situation. The student can justify his/her views.
The student can acquire information on his/her own field of study and can use it critically. The student is able to prepare a goal-oriented written, oral or visual presentation for the target audience. The student takes advantage of his/her knowledge on text types and language.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The course objectives have been achieved in a competent manner. The student has taken actively and constructively part to the teaching and learning assignments. The student’s function enhances group activities.
The student masters the motifs of the course and prerequisites and is able to apply theoretical studies to a practical work. The reasoning of the rehearsal works is professional and the student can validate causes and consequences of one's choice.
The student works independently enough. The student is able to master the whole of subject both in theory and practice. The student has achieved an excellent level at her/his skills and knowledge.
The student is willing and able to develop his/her Finnish language and communication skills as a part of her/his expertise and is able to communicate in a meaningful, creative and personal way.
The student can use means of communication in a creative and appropriate way and takes advantage of different channels and tools. The student argues her/his point with skill and shows, shares and develops her/his expertise in the community.
