Objective

The student learns the basic concepts of digital circuits and knows the basic components of sequential circuits. The student knows the basics of VHDL-language. The student knows the basic structure of common programmable logic devices.

The student can analyze and design digital circuits. He or she can write the VHDL description of a simple digital circuit.

Content

Introduction to sequential circuits.
Latches and flip-flops.
Analysis of synchronous sequential circuits, as well as the design of synchronous sequential circuits both by hand and by an EDA tool.
