Objective

The student is able to apply the acquired analytical skills in analyzing air, water and soil samples. S/he knows how environmental samples are sampled and processed for chemical and microbiological analysis.

Content

Sampling and analysis of environmental samples according to standard methods, including chemical (e.g. radioactive isotopes, heavy metals with ICP-OES and ICP-MS techniques, VOC, POP and hydrocarbons with GC-MS/ECDs and LC-MS techniques) and microbiological analysis (molds and bacteria). Chemical and biological analysis of microbial diversity.
