Content
Special assignment in Energy and Environmental Engineering.
Prerequisites
The student knows the basics of project work.
Teaching methods
This is a project-based course in which students work on challenges provided by external clients. The course includes a mandatory kick-off lecture, where practical matters, instructions, and the schedule of the course are introduced. At the end of the course, a final seminar is held, during which the outcomes of the projects are presented.
The course consists of a 3,5 ECTS project component and a 1,5 ECTS communication component.
The course's Moodle platform is used for sharing materials and submitting assignments.
Location and time
The kick-off lecture and the final seminar are mandatory sessions, scheduled in the official timetable. Attendance at both sessions is compulsory.
The project work can be carried out according to a schedule agreed upon by each project team.
Learning materials and recommended literature
All course-related materials will be distributed via the Moodle workspace.
Exam dates and retake possibilities
There is no exam included in the course.
Student workload
5 OP=135h. Around 135 hours are allocated to the project work and 40 hours to English communication studies
Project teams are responsible for planning and managing their own project schedules in accordance with the allocated working hours.
Further information for students
Artificial intelligence may be used for fine-tuning the reporting of assignments (e.g., punctuation, spelling), but it must not be used to produce the entire assignment.
AI can be utilized for drafting meeting minutes, but this must be agreed upon by all participants of the project meetings.
AI is not recommended as a source of information for assignments, as it may provide incorrect facts and answers.
The use of AI must be disclosed in all reporting, even when it has only been used for fine-tuning the text. Guidance on how to make this note can be found in the thesis writing instructions.
