Content

An embedded system is a small computer system embedded in many kind of mechanical or electrical systems. The properties of embedded systems compared with general-purpose computer systems are small size, low power consumption and low per-unit cost. In addition, networking functions and rich UI are also required for embedded systems to develop recent mechanical or electrical systems. Since Android OS is much for these properties of embedded systems, Android is applied not only to smartphones but also to embedded systems. In this course, we study basics of Android programming, after that, develop a simple IoT system using Android tablet PC as the controller in order to understand how to apply Android to embedded systems.
