Objective
On completion of the course, the student
• is familiar with the possibilities of simulations and able to create useful simulation models to test product behaviour
• is able to use simulation models to develop and test the steering and control algorithms.
Content
• Possibilities of simulations
• Principles of the creation of a simulation model, verification and testing of the model
• Various simulation environments
• Simulation cases in various applications
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student
• knows the degree of freedoms of a single part and is able to use joints to connect parts in a simulation environment
• is able to independently build a simple model according to given requirements
• is able to use a simulation model to create a simple control algorithm.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student
• is able to define properties and functions needed for a simple model, and create a functional simulation model
• is able to verify and test the model and use it to achieve results
• is able to include a control algorithm to the simulation model and test the model with different parameters.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student
• is able to specify the requirements for a simulation model and create the simulation model independently
• can apply the simulation model and use the achieved results independently
• is able to transfer the model to another simulation environment and use the model to create and study the control algorithm and the system.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student
• knows the degree of freedoms of a single part and is able to use joints to connect parts in a simulation environment
• is able to independently build a simple model according to given requirements
• is able to use a simulation model to create a simple control algorithm.
