Objective
After completion of this course the student knows the basic structure of a computer and a micro-controller. The student will learn the assembly language of two common micro-controllers. The student will understand timers, serial ports and interrupts. The student will be able to design simple embedded systems.
After completion of this course the student can program PIC and 8051 microcontrollers. The development environments of these micro-controllers are familiar to students and a simple micro-controller card is designed and realised with some LEDs, switches and a display. The student can also use EVTEK-5103 board.
Content
The basic structure and fundamental terminology of microcontrollers, assembly language and programming, memories, I/O-connections, timers, serial port, interrupts.
