Objective

At the end of the course the student is expected to know phases in repairing process of buildings, planning and execution of demolition for structures and factors affecting on the safety of the work. The student knows methods for repairing steel and concrete structures and mould problems and design preliminarily repairing damages of concrete structures and mould problems and improving energy efficiency of buildings.

The student is able to:
-list renovation process
-explain phases for planning and implementation of demolition of structures
-design a few simple demolition work
-list factors affecting on service life design of renovation
-list methods to improve energy efficiency of buildings
-list of repair methods for steel and concrete structures and mold damage
-make simple plans for repairing concrete structures and mold damages

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to:
-list renovation process and participants in renovation
-explain phases for planning and implementation of demolition of structures and necessary documents and plans
-design demolition work of load bearing structures
-list factors affecting on service life design of renovation
-list methods to improve energy efficiency of buildings
-list of repair methods for steel and concrete structures and mold damage
-make plans for repairing concrete structures and mold damages

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to:
-list renovation process and participants in renovation and necessary plans
-explain phases for planning and implementation of demolition of structures and necessary documents and plans
-design demolition work of load bearing structures
-list factors affecting on service life design of renovation
-list methods to improve energy efficiency of buildings, and analyze their effect on reduction of energy consumption
-list of repair methods for steel and concrete structures and mold damage and choose suitable methods for different renovation cases
-make plans for repairing concrete structures and mold damages
