Learning outcomes

Students identify and are able to justify the starting points of their thesis in terms of their professional development. They are capable of active cooperation in different professional networks and are able to a professional discussion with professional representatives, mentors and students. Students are able to make a feasible plan for their thesis, which is based on critical information acquisition and creative solutions. They are able to identify and solve ethical issues related to their work. Students use English research literature in planning of their thesis.

- Gaining understanding of the thesis process
- Identification of current development needs in the field
- Cooperation negotiations with working life representatives, networking and peer support
- Acquisition of information in both Finnish and English and source criticism
- Reasoned choice of working methods and research methods
- Workshops: methods, text control and information acquisition
- Communication of research and development activities
- Draw up an idea paper and a viable plan and present those at the seminar
- Applying for a research permission and making a thesis agreement
