Career Path in Nursing Expertice (15 ECTS)

Learning outcomes

Students
- deepen their evidence-based competence in accordance with the key competence areas of nursing: clinical, decision-making, patient education, interaction, ethical, health promotion, and development and leadership competence
- can evaluate their evidence-based development and assume responsibility for the quality of nursing in their own actions
- are prepared for future-oriented and patient/client-oriented development of nursing
- deepen their competence in the chosen area of expertise from the perspective of nurses’ work and profession (e.g. internationality, multiculturalism, entrepreneurship or various development, research or expert tasks)

Content

- evidence-based nursing and its development
- nurses’ expertise and multiprofessional teamwork and networks
- health technology and competence in future nursing
- patient education supporting empowerment
- chosen content based on the career path
- specific questions related to the study unit

Prerequisites

The student may choose the nursing expertise studies when he has completed the theoretical studies included in the professional nursing studies and clinical practices included in these, unless otherwise agreed in the student's ISP.

Teaching methods

Itsenäinen oppiminen opiskelijan omavalinnan mukaisten opintojen mukaisesti.
Opiskelija suunnittelee opintonsa uraohjaajan kanssa.
Käytännöstä nousevia ammatillisia tilanteita ja ongelmia, joihin etsitään näyttöön perustuvia ratkaisuja

Location and time

Opintojakson ajoitus määräytyy opiskelijan omavalinnan mukaisesti riippuen, mitä opintoja opiskelija valitsee ja miten ne suoritetaan. Opintojakso toteutetaan lukukausittain, yleensä 1. tai 3. periodilla.

Learning materials and recommended literature

Opiskelija perehtyy kiinnostuksena mukaisesti näyttöön perustuvaan tietoon ja soveltaa sitä oppimisensa pohjana.

Exam dates and retake possibilities

Osaamisen arviointi ja mahdolliset tentit ja tehtävät määräytyvät sen mukaan, mitä opintoja opiskelija kokonaisuudessa suorittaa.

International connections

Opintokokonaisuudesta 5 op suositellaan suoritettavaksi KV-yhteistyössä Nursing Around the World -toteutuksella.

Student workload

Opintojakson laajuus on yhteensä 15 op eli 405 tuntia.

Content scheduling

Määräytyy sen mukaan, mitä opintoja opiskelija valitsee. Suositellaan suoritettavaksi yhden lukukauden aikana, mutta opiskelijan on mahdollista suorittaa opintojakso yhden lukuvuoden aikana.

Opiskelija voi koota opintoja oman kiinnostuksen mukaisesti terveysalan YAMK tai yliopisto -koulutuksista. Valitut opinnot tulee hyväksyttää opintojakson vastuuopettajalla.
