Learning outcomes
Students are able to create a confidential relationship with the patient. They can interview, examine and treat patients and prepare patient documents. They can demonstrate a clear and concise patient case study to their practice supervisor using professional terminology as well as carry out an osteopathic working diagnosis under supervision. Students observe their peer students’ work with patients in small groups and appreciate the dissemination of knowledge. They are also able to take responsibility for their group’s learning and share the acquired knowledge. Student know how to plan and implement marketing, sales and patient recruitment. Students understand the significance of good relationship with patients for succeeding with the treatment.
First aid:
Students know how to act in situations threatening general safety, accidents and attacks of illnesses. They are capable of administering first aid to injured or acute patients. Students are competent in basic life support.
Content
Interview skills. Case history skills. Analysis of posture, active and passive movements of the back. Case presentation and professional communication. Osteopathic working hypothesis. Working at the reception. Marketing, sales and client service skills. Multi professional problem solving.
First aid with and without first aid kit. Use of first aid equipment and medicines in acute situations.
