Learning outcomes

Student
- describe the operating principles, structures, use, operational maintenance and operational safety of basic devices and methods used at a laboratory
- they use the basic laboratory equipment and work safely and ergonomically
- describe laboratory equipment maintenance procedures and sort laboratory waste

Content

Chemical legislation, occupational safety, ergonomics, key concepts of quality assurance; measuring devices and measurement; laboratory balances and weighing, centrifuges and centrifugation, microscopes and microscopic methods, mixers, pH measurement, laboratory water and water purification methods, laboratory chemicals, preparation of solutions, laboratory equipment maintenance, waste management.

Prerequisites: Safety culture in health care
