Learning outcomes
Students are able to take into account the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the participants of a communication situation. Students are able to communicate the information that they have acquired both verbally and in writing. Students know how to use communication methods used by special needs groups and possess the oral and written skills in the second national language (Swedish) required for work assignments within their own field, as laid down in legislation governing the universities of applied sciences.

• Key vocabulary of the second national language in terms of the Occupational Therapist’s work
• Verbal and written communication in the second national language
• Communication of special needs groups
• Signing key words, use of pictures and plain language
Teaching methods
Swedish: interactive exercises, assignments i small groups
Learning materials and recommended literature
Swedish: teachers own, available in Oma before course start

Swedish: written exam the last lessons, possible to retake twice. Oral assignment on the second last lessons.

Swedish:attendence at lessons 80%, independent work, written tasks outside lesson time
